She treats patients of all ages. Dr. Joseph’s residency and fellowship training included specialized training in women’s mood disorders, developmental disorders, and eating disorders in addition to standard training, which prepared her to see patients with a broad range of disorders. Dr. Joseph enjoys treating all areas of mental health, but she has developed special areas of interest in treating ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, OCD, and Tourette Syndrome. Taking a thorough approach to treatment, Dr. Joseph considers biological, developmental, psychological, learning, interpersonal, family dynamic, and environmental issues in understanding each patient’s unique issues and therapeutic needs. She believes in a collaborative approach as well, communicating with therapists, school teachers, other doctors, and family members as needed. Clinical services provided by Dr. Joseph include comprehensive diagnostic assessments, medication consultation and management, individual psychotherapy, school consultation, maintenance of treatment, coordination of care with other community and clinical providers, and multidisciplinary team treatment involvement. Dr. Joseph received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology at Tulane University where she went on to attain a Master's Degree in Neuroscience. She then attended Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Joseph completed her General Psychiatry Residency and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was honored to serve as Chief Fellow.
