Your Questions, Answered

  • We offer a range of services tailored specifically to your needs. Please see the Reimbursement and Services page to see details about this

  • Getting started is simple. Reach out via phone or email listed on our contact page. The phone number is a confidential voicemail where you can leave a message and expect a call back within 2 business days, or, if you prefer, you can email and expect a response within 2 business days. Our administrative assistant will provide you more details about the process for establishing care with Dr. Joseph, which includes asking you a few questions and making sure you have the information you need so that both Dr. Joseph and you can decide if her practice is a good fit for you. Once that is decided, you will need to fill out new patient paperwork and set up a patient portal with a card on file. No charges will be made until the date of the appointment, but Dr. Joseph requires a card on file. Once you have completed those steps, our administrative assistant will get you scheduled.

  • Dr. Joseph strongly believes that in order to provide the best care, TIME with patients is required. You are not just your condition that you came in for help with. You are a WHOLE person. Dr. Joseph aims to get to know you as a person, develop a positive working relationship, and identify a multi-modal treatment plan tailored specifically to you. This may include social interventions, medication, psychotherapy, occupational therapy, supplements, school/work accommodations, exercise, dietary adjustments, etc. The insurance-based model reimburses a set amount per service. This model incentivizes practices to fit as many patients into the hour as possible. Insurances also play nasty tricks on patients and physicians so that they pay less and less each year, while premiums and the cost of living rises. Dr. Joseph firmly believes that spending more time with patients provides better outcomes and does not want insurance dictating the care she can provide.

  • You can reach us anytime via our phone or email on the contact page. We aim to respond quickly and may respond as soon as the same day, but please allow up to two business days for a response.

  • Dr. Joseph values transparency and thus has her most common fees listed under Reimbursement and Services. For a more detailed fee schedule that includes items like the No Show or Late Cancel Fee, the cost of phone calls, and more, please email us to request a copy of the Practice Policies form that all patients review and sign prior to starting treatment.

  • In today’s medical landscape, it can be confusing to understand the difference between a psychiatrist and other mental health clinicians. This is especially confusing because the term “psychiatrist” should be reserved for physicians who have completed a residency in psychiatry, but there are non physicians who use this term to describe themselves. People also commonly get confused between the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist. This is a complicated question that deserves a detailed answer that we break down for you here.
